General Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Human Resources Director the Human Resources Specialist I is responsible for supporting multiple Human Resources functions including: employee onboarding & training; special projects & customer support; and department record keeping systems.
Salary:
The full range for this position is $46,873.44 – $57,028.78. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.

Essential Functions/Other Functions
Essential Functions:
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding Human Resources topics in-person and via phone & email.
- Establish and maintain confidential record keeping systems for the department including creating and maintaining electronic files.
- Provide support to employment team to include participation in: advertising of positions; scheduling of interviews; and onboarding & training of new employees.
- Partner with the Fingerprinting Technician to provide fingerprinting services and support agency phones & mail.
- Partner with the Human Resources Director & other department members to coordinate Human Resources and ESD activities, events, and special projects.
- Support the Certification Specialist in providing certification services to regional educators and districts.
- Provide administrative support to the HR Department as assigned.
- Provide administrative support to the Unemployment Pool as assigned.
Other Functions:
- Represent the Human Resources department on agency committees as assigned.
- Process fiscal transactions for the Human Resources department as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree and two years of Human Resources or related experience OR a high school diploma or GED and four years of Human Resources or related experience.
- Two years of experience working in a professional office environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Programs.
- Experience establishing and maintaining electronic files and record keeping systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in an education, not-for-profit, or public sector organization.
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations.

- Successful completion of a criminal history check through the Washington State Patrol.
