Description

The Hennepin County Housing Stability area is seeking to hire a Human Services Supervisor. This position in the RentHelp Hennepin program will be responsible for leading and supervising staff who process applications for rent assistance, respond to inquiries from tenants and property owners, and coordinate with the triage and navigation staff throughout the community. This position is part of a leadership team that oversees many complex processes and will focus on guiding the agency through continuous improvement initiatives.

Location and hours:

This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Hours will be flexible, working 8 hours per day during core business hours, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.

New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:

  • Manage a team of 6-10 paraprofessional staff.
  • Develop and support respectful, trauma-informed services for residents.
  • Gain expertise in RentHelp Hennepin application system.
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures for homeless prevention programs.
  • Support staff in their work to process applications for rent assistance.
  • Respond to resident and property owner questions and appeals.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with the RentHelp Hennepin management team, schools, and community agencies.
  • Lead special projects, as assigned.

Need to have:

  • Four years or more of paraprofessional experience in determining appropriate funding sources for financial assistance, performing support collection activities, and/or providing employment readiness assistance. Note: Supervisory experience in a human services setting may be substituted for up to two years of paraprofessional experience on a year for year basis.
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel to various sites throughout Hennepin County.
