Position Title:HVAC Installation Supervisor

Division: Tempo Service

Compensation: Salary + Incentives

Reports to: Replacement Manager

Summary: At Tempo Service, Installation Supervisor will oversee the removal and installation of all types of Heating and Air Conditioning systems in residential, multi-family, and commercial buildings. Confirm installations meet all local codes and comply with Tempo’s quality of standards. They will work closely with Installation Manager, Installation Coordinators, warehouse staff and customers to ensure all jobs are completed within the scheduled time and to Tempo Quality of Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises field employees in the HVAC Installation Department.
  • Interviewing applicants, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Performance appraisals; employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Daily verification and submission of payroll.
  • Inspects and measures buildings to determine retrofit requirements.
  • Plans and draws layout and dimensions of ductwork.
  • Attends classes and seminars on air conditioning components and system design to update skills.
  • Train technicians and installers to comply with company and industry standards.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work related problems or assist employees in solving work related problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Coordinate installations with customers and Sales Department.
  • Customer liaison.
  • Give and take written and verbal instructions.
  • Operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.
  • Work flexible hours as required, including out of town when applicable.
  • Other duties may assign.

Qualifications

  • NATE Certification and or EPA Certification
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Possess a positive attitude, be accountable, and take pride in your workmanship.
  • Ambition to learn and the ability to attend training.
  • Reliable, organized, and driven.
  • Proficient in HVAC retrofit installations, including all types of duct work and service for residential equipment systems.
  • Knowledge of gas furnaces and electric heating components.
  • Understanding of the refrigeration cycle of heat pumps and straight-cool systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in dynamic and stressful environments.
  • Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, electrical currents, high pressure gases, heights, and surroundings.
  • Ability to handle a physical workload in demanding environments under deadlines.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and clear driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate a company motor vehicle as evidenced by past driving performance record and to adhere to all company safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and without close supervision; willing and able to consistently work the scheduled required by job demands.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to regularly climb and work from 4′- 32′ ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, grasp to perform essential job functions. Must not exceed 300 pounds in weight including clothes and equipment to meet OSHA guidelines on Fall Protection.
