JOB TITLE: HVAC Supervisor

JOB GOAL: The goal of the HVAC Supervisor is to lead the HVAC Department in providing quality HVAC maintenance, repairs, and installations within the school district, ensuring efficient systems and a safe, comfortable environment to support optimal learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC systems maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and their components.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations, including EPA requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Months, 261 Days, General Leave, Vacation

COMPENSATION: $68,132 – $80,396

BENEFITS: As per District policy

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Operations & Construction

EVALUATION: Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.

HOURS: 40 hours per week

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Supports the Strategic Plan of Queen Creek Unified School District.
  2. Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all HVAC systems in school buildings throughout the district.
  3. Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and proactively address potential problems.
  4. Ensure HVAC systems are running efficiently and maintain optimal indoor air quality and temperature levels.
  5. Supervise and lead a team of HVAC technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
  6. Schedule and assign tasks to team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair work.
  7. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and a strong work ethic.
  8. Develop and implement a comprehensive HVAC maintenance program to ensure the longevity and efficiency of HVAC systems.
  9. Coordinate and track maintenance schedules, including filter replacement, lubrication, and cleaning.
  10. Respond promptly to HVAC-related issues and breakdowns, coordinating repairs and troubleshooting efforts.
  11. Order and manage necessary replacement parts and equipment.
  12. Diagnose complex HVAC problems and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
  13. Ensure all HVAC systems meet relevant safety and environmental standards, following EPA regulations and guidelines.
  14. Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
  15. Assist in budget planning and monitoring for HVAC-related expenses, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  16. Propose equipment upgrades or replacements as needed, considering energy efficiency and cost savings.
  17. Collaborate with other departments and school administrators to address HVAC-related concerns and provide updates on system performance.
  18. Generate regular reports on HVAC system status, maintenance activities, and repairs performed.
  19. Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  20. Identify training needs, provide coaching and mentorship to team members, and organize training sessions to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  21. All other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designee
