Major Duties and Responsibilities

Under general supervision, promotes and explains workforce development employment services (e.g., recruitment; workforce development strategies; veterans services; federal and state funded employer programs) available to employers and other local organizations: establishes working relationship with local community partners (e.g., businesses; economic development office; Chambers of Commerce; Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act [WIOA] boards; educational facilities) through frequent on-site, virtual, email, and/or telephone contacts; provides current materials and resources regarding workforce employer services (e.g., posting positions; talent search; customized trainings; tax credits; veteran information); plans, organizes, and conducts initial employer meetings; participates in workshops and job fairs; refers employers and impacted workers to appropriate resources including OhioMeansJobs.com and OhioMeansJobs centers; provides employers resources and services available through other state agencies and local entities; implements and explains federal and state policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to workforce development program policies and procedures; operates personal computer to obtain, enter, verify, and/or edit data; gathers and analyzes data (e.g., labor market information; market trends; reports); suggests marketing strategies and assists in developing marketing plans; creates and/or updates employment related content for publishing in coordination with the Office of Communications.

Provides technical assistance virtually or in-person to agency staff, partner staff, and employers in navigating through workforce service program requirements; meets with employers virtually or in-person to solicit participation on employer and workforce investment committees to determine and establish plans to assist employers in meeting workforce needs; serves as liaison between Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and the business community; meets with representatives from businesses and industries to request their participation in, and support for, job development and training activities (e.g., apprenticeships).

Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., participates in business service meetings virtually or in-person; travels to attend training sessions and conferences; operates personal computer to produce correspondence, reports, and other documents; maintains logs, records, and files).

Qualifications
The following are the minimum qualifications for this position. Applicants must specifically identify how the required job qualifications are met in the Education and/or Work Experience – “Job Duties” Sections of the application.

To meet the minimum qualification for this position you have (2) options:

Option #1

(18) months experience in state and federal regulations governing implemented training and/or employment programs AND (18) months experience in public relations AND (12) months experience in labor market data and employment trends AND (6) months experience in operation of computer terminal and/or personal computer AND must provide own transportation

Option #2

Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Note: For Account Executive positions in the Veterans Services program area preference shall be given first to qualified service-connected disabled veterans and if no such person is available, then to qualified eligible persons, per Title 38, United States Code, Section 4104.
