Job Overview :
The O hio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is recruiting for a healthcare professional with significant experience to manage and direct a Quality Improvement section within the Office of Health Innovation & Quality. As the Section Chief, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing two units responsible for the Next Generation of Managed Care programs to improve outcomes and equity initiatives through ODM’s Population Health and Quality Strategy (e.g., opioid use disorder or minorities with diabetes and/or hypertension
- Directing units charged with administering programs to improve quality through ODM’s Managed Care Entities (MCEs) (e.g., quality withhold program to improve birth outcomes and Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs) focused on children’s behavioral health)
- Monitors the use of Quality Improvement plans using the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI’s) model of improvement including the assessment of projects study design (e.g., barrier analysis and intervention design, performance measure development)
- Overseeing development and implementation of quality improvement strategies for healthy children and adults, women and infants, those with chronic conditions, those with primary behavioral health conditions, and older adults
- Coordinates quality improvement work with all managed care programs (e.g., Medicaid Managed Care, OhioRISE, Single Pharmacy Benefits Manager (SPBM), & MyCare)

Qualifications
Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 36 mos. exp. in planning & administering health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services data base analysis).
-Or 12 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2, 65296.
