Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Hydraulic Technician for our Kalispell Complex operations. This is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Reliability Supervisor. This position will provide primary support to the entire complex in Kalispell, MT, which includes both a Plywood and Lumber facility.

Position Details
- As an Industrial Hydraulic Technician you will have the opportunity to
- Maintain and trouble shoot the existing hydraulic systems in a safe and productive manner
- Design updates and modifications to existing hydraulic systems
- Create proactive preventative maintenance program for all hydraulic systems on complex
- Maintain hydraulic schematics on all hydraulic systems on complex
- Find safe and mechanically sound methods to repair & maintain equipment
- Instruct others on the proper usage of hoses, tubing and piping
- Willing and able to teach and train others in hydraulic systems and components
- Able to maintain and rebuild all hydraulic motors, pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators and all other components
- Work with a team of millwrights and electricians to deliver preventative and routine maintenance on plant equipment, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical problems, system integration and work on capital projects including upgrading and installation of equipment
- Support manufacturing by maximizing plant uptime and provide support for facility systems in a safe manner, while contributing to corporate, plant, and departmental goals.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Formalized/technical training in hydraulics is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience maintaining industrial hydraulic systems or equivalent
- Two or more years fluid power degree preferred
- Experience with electrical controls, AutoCAD and Tempo sonic systems preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Specific Skills
- Understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, program controls and other systems related to plant operation
- Must be familiar with industrial plumbing systems
- Knowledge/proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Ability to work closely with supervisors and other departments; be a team player/leader; good communication skills and demonstrate positive attitude.
- Willingness to work any shift, work overtime, weekends and holidays to maintain plant production
- Maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety, and attendance records.
- Knowledge and experience in basic computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, web-based applications including the internet, and preventative maintenance applications.
- Experience working in SAP or similar CMMS system preferred
- Experience in welding and fabricating hydraulic hard lines preferred
Additional Requirements
- The job of Industrial Hydraulic Technician is a Very Heavy-Duty job. Very Heavy Duty involves exertion of more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds continuously to move objects.
- Essential duties include but are not limited to stooping, climbing, and crawling in and over machines for repair purposes and the ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working above the ground at times, and outside as necessary.
- Candidates must have the ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions.
- A sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production, and minimizing down time is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment.
- Tasks performed involve work with equipment and materials that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures to maintain the safety of the work environment.
- Must be willing to help out the Maintenance Department when needed or appropriate
Note: This position will be considered for advancement based on direct hydraulic experience, comprehensive system knowledge and the demonstration of advanced hydraulic skills. This position will be a Complex level position meaning responsibility to both Plywood and Lumber facilities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly base wage is DOE. Range $26.80-$36.73
