The Opportunity
The I&C Test Engineer position is within the I&C Manufacturing organization in the I&C Business Unit which is responsible for modernizing instrumentation and control system for nuclear power plants. This opportunity is located in Lynchburg, Virginia.
What You’ll Do at Framatome
You will be responsible for product and system compliance testing to industry standards. Typical assignments include:
- Development of Test Plans/Reports for various instrumentation, control, and electrical systems/products for product compliance testing
- Designing of Test Fixtures and Setups to support product and component testing
- Interfacing with Test Labs for the support of product compliance testing
- Working with the system/product teams in support of development of functional tests of the Test Specimens
- Developing schedule and cost estimates for the procedure development, fixture/setup development, and performance of product compliance testing
- Configuring of test specimen and fixtures and test equipment to support product and component testing
- Performing of functional testing of test specimen throughout the product and component testing Lifecyle
Required Experience
Who You Are
You have the ability to interpret and execute technical test standards and requirements to ensure product complies with industry standards and requirements, by reading and understand product/system drawings and datasheets to develop tests and methods to verify compliance.
- Experience in product compliance testing
- Experience in testing I&C Systems/Products
- Familiar with methods and requirements of nuclear qualification standards, such as IEEE 323, IEEE 344, NCR RG 1.180, and EPRI TR-102323
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint)
- Proficiency with reading, understanding, and creating electrical system drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ability to utilize laboratory equipment such as Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, Power Supplies, and Logic Analyzers
- Experience with 2D CAD or 3D modelling software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- PLC programming experience

What You’ve Accomplished
You have completed a BS in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or Engineering Technology and have a minimum of 2 years of engineering experience. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.
Our total rewards package
The range of base salary for the position is between $70,000 – $92,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
