Position Summary

The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated, highly responsible and customer service-oriented individual for the position of Ice Guest Services Attendant – Winter Seasonal (Recreation Attendant). This is a Full-Time Winter Seasonal position. Recreation Attendants are responsible for interfacing with guests in order to meet or exceed guest needs with respect to facility, program or service needs. This includes providing information, implementing or carrying out pre-planned programs or activities, assisting with program planning, handling cash, enforcing policies or procedures, and generally representing the department in the most quality and service-oriented manner possible.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing excellent guest service; greeting guests; conducting memberships, pass and pro shop sales, monitoring on ice activities, light custodial duties; and providing information and explanation of services and programs offered by the Recreation Department. This position performs cash handling duties and conducts transactions with a computerized point of sale system, and also coordinates equipment needs, performs facility checks, and handles facility reservations.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must have received a High School diploma or GED, or must be currently enrolled in a High School/GED program.
• Must have one (1) or more years of customer service experience.
• Must have one (1) or more years of cash handling experience.
• To qualify for this position the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check as described in the Recreation Department Criminal History Background Check & Confidentiality Policy.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

• Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
• Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ LICENSES/ EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) or more years of customer service experience in cash handling and/or customer service experience in the recreation or hospitality industry.
• One (1) or more years of experience working in a recreation facility.
• One (1) or more years of retail experience.
• Intermediate or higher level ice skating skills desired.
• Knowledge and/or experience with organized hockey and/or figure skating programs preferred.

Additional Information
Typical Hiring Pay Range: $20.00 to $21.25 per hour.

SENSITIVITY STATUS
Because the Town’s Recreation Department positions may involve direct contact with children, the Town requires that the incumbent in this position must have a clear criminal history that bears on his or her fitness to have responsibility for the safety and well-being of children.

WORK SCHEDULE
Primary shifts for this position are Monday through Friday, with a typical schedule of 40 hours per week. This position would ideally start in the last week of August and work through the last week of April.

Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability; and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
