Description

The Balance Autism is currently seeking dedicated, creative individuals interested in being leaders in our growing program to serve as Team Lead. The Balance Autism’s Adult Community Services Department provides independent living supports for adults with autism. These adults live in our Pleasant Hill Community. They have daily staff members who train them in a variety of skills integral to their personal growth and development.

Top 4 Duties:

1. Safety: Ensures health/safety needs of the person served are met by communicating concerns or issues related to cleanliness, health and safety, and other needs to the individual and other appropriate staff. Focus every day on supporting people with autism as they gain higher levels of independence, including skills related to: hygiene, personal care, building social relationships and networks, communication, vocational, and community involvement as needed.

2. Program Implementation/Documentation: Participates in the implementation and monitoring of personalized programs, autism specific strategies, training of new and current staff of strategies, and innovative solutions in order to generate successful outcomes.

3. Engagement: Demonstrates appropriate duration of engagement with the individual and employee by conducting natural environment training (i.e. utilizing naturally occurring opportunities for teaching and contriving additional teaching opportunities for requests, transfer of skills, and generalization) and direct instruction during the observation.

4. Interaction: Engages the individual and staff in social interactions with peers and adults or ICF/ID Youth during activities that are appropriate for the repertoire of the individual served. Encourages high level of service to exceed expectations. Demonstrates the highest level of care as a mentor to others.

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prefer six months to a year of directly related experience and/or training in the field of human services.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before persons served, inspectors and/or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to use trained knowledge of Therap (Electronic Medical Record System), Halogen and ADP payroll software.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
