As an ICT Design Engineer you will be part of a global engineering team, comprised of highly effective Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Engineers and Architects. AWS self-performs engineering on the majority of our capacity delivery projects. The AWS ICT Design and Engineering Team is a new fast-growing and leading-edge engineering team that is rethinking the design of inside-plant fiber connectivity and the supporting pathways.
As a member of this team, your focus will be on designing inside-plant connectivity and pathway solutions for networking gear within the data center. We are looking specifically for someone with a design background and experience working as part of an interdisciplinary design team that creates permit and bid drawings in a typical design-bid-build delivery scenario. This is an opportunity to work on some of the world’s most complex buildings at a scale found nowhere else.

Responsibilities of the ICT Design Engineer
– Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic & copper inside-plant design drawings and specifications.
– Review and approval of ICT pathway, cable and equipment submittals.
– Work with Revit and ACAD professionals to ensure a coordinated design.
– Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and reduce installation time.
– Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS’ Data Centers.
– Having fun and offering a creative, out of the box solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 2+ years of experience working in a multidisciplinary design team either in a consulting or end user capacity.
– 2+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in Mission Critical Environments
– 5+ years of working experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards
– BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g. CDCDP, DCDC, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other Related Field
– Professional Engineering (PE) Electrical License

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
