Job Description
Facilitates patient flow through US/CT/MRI and Interventional Radiology, and assists in-patients and out-patients within the Radiology Department.
Job Responsibility
- Assists other employees as needed. Promotes a professional, calm work environment.
- Facilitates the preparation of patient for examinations by:
- Assisting patient with exam questionnaire
- Verifying patient identification band using two hospital identifiers.
- Administering oral contrast material per hospital policy.
- Assisting patients to and from the bathroom and assists them in using bedpans and urinals.
- Assisting in transferring patients in and out of procedure rooms, as required.
- Assisting Technologists with transferring patients on and off procedure tables, as needed.
- Providing basic exam education to patient, referring clinical questions to Technologist.
- Verifying IV access and advises Radiology Nurse.Notifies Radiology Nurse for any significant change or concern regarding patient wellbeing.
- Provides a safe environment for patients waiting for a radiology test, including both inpatient holding areas:
- Providing patients with water, juice, or warm blankets, as appropriate.
- Facilitating transport of inpatients back to their rooms.
- Communicating delays to patient and/or family related to exam/transport
- Facilitates exam completion by:
- Placing requisition in appropriate CT area.Assisting in transferring patients from procedure table.
- Confirming patient identification using two identifiers.
- Notifying appropriate Technologist of pending patients.
- Maintaining basic supply levels in order to provide optimal patient care.
- Specimen delivery.
- Completing refrigerator log in IV prep area daily, maintaining standards specific to the competency.
- Miscellaneous duties related to department:
- Answering telephones according to service standards.
- Making deliveries and pick-ups to other hospital areas (i.e Lab, Pharmacy, nursing units, etc.)
- Transports patients, when necessary.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Medical Assistant Certificate, required.
- Nurse Attendant Certificate, preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in clinical setting, required.
- Proficiency in equipment used in Radiology area, required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and yearly mandatory competencies.

The salary range for this position is $22.52-$23.80/hour
