General Statement of Duties
The Department of Social Services is seeking a highly self-motivated, dependable professional to determine eligibility in an economic services program, Family and Children’s Medicaid (Recertifications).

– Basic knowledge of universal computer technology and general office equipment;
– Exceptional organizational skills;
– Exceptional customer service skills;
– Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
– Ability to work quickly within deadlines;
– Ability to type 45 words per minute (or faster) and;
– Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED and two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or closely related experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

The candidates selected for these positions will need to be able to attend state and local trainings in regards to program requirements.

Knowledge of NCFAST is preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, mathematical and analytical skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment. The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft software and be familiar with the computer systems associated with Family & Children’s Medicaid.

The preferred candidate possesses a minimum of 1 year experience in Family and Children’s Medicaid and 1 year experience in NCFAST.

– Interviews clients to obtain required information;
– Explains program requirements;
– Completes initial applications;
– Verifies the information obtained from clients and;
– Determines clients’ eligibility.
