Income Tax Manager / Sr. Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Income Tax Manager/Sr. Manager position’s main responsibilities include preparing schedules for tax provisions, quarterly estimated tax, annual extension filings and corporate income/franchise tax filings. The Income Tax Manager is responsible for all corporate income tax matters, income tax return compliance processes, researching tax issues, analyzing applicable tax laws, and documenting conclusions. In addition, the Income Tax Manager supervises and leads others on projects and offers direction to achieve tax department goals. The Income Tax Manager will report directly to the Corporate Controller.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare year end and quarterly tax provisions, rate reconciliations, reserves for uncertain tax provisions, footnote disclosures for 10Q and 10K reporting, valuation allowance analysis, and return to provision true-ups
  • Complete calculation and preparation of the Federal and state quarterly corporate income estimated tax payments and annual extensions payment/ filings
  • Prepare schedules for federal income tax filings, review federal and state tax returns prepared and files the returns.
  • Prepare workpapers for quarterly and year-end tax reviews and audits
  • Manage the fixed asset depreciation calculation for tax purposes
  • Manage the preparation of claims for tax adjustments and refunds
  • Review Canadian Tax returns, Canadian tax provisions and calculate GILTI income when applicable
  • Respond to inquiries from governmental agencies regarding tax filings, compliance, claims and related matters
  • Oversees IRS and state tax audit
  • Monitor changes in applicable tax laws as they affect the organization’s tax liability and reporting requirements
  • Minimize tax liability through a sound and informed application of tax laws and regulations permitting alternate treatment of taxable items
  • Assist Corporate Controller with special tax projects as needed
  • Assist with accounting / finance responsibilities as needed
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 – 7 years of income tax experience as a Tax Senior or Manager
  • Solid background in U.S. corporate tax compliance, GAAP, and other related U.S. accounting standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA license strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $125,000-$150,000 / year
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
