Stain/Color Technicians

Wilsonart, Asheville has an immediate opening for a Stain Color Technician. This role will work in our facility creating paint and stain matches per customer specification. Candidates must be willing to learn about color matching techniques and how to operate the equipment used for mixing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mixing and Matching of Stains utilizing MaestroHue equipment
  • Perform required quality control checks for all outgoing tinted items
  • Maintain in-depth and detailed records of colors developed as outlined the Tint Station Operations Manual
  • Stocking Items
  • Supporting Sales Team
  • Pull, Shake and stage truck orders for Finish and Equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including the paint mixing room, spray booth, spray equipment, etc.
  • Keep accurate log of any pour offs of bad material and deposit into the waste drum and keep it labeled appropriately
  • Maintain Literature for finish related items
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned
  • Make pre-booth quality checks of equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety rules in dealing with hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a high level of production and quality to meet daily order metrics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge or Experience in color matching
  • Knowledge or Experience with Spray Equipment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Able to Drive a Vehicle
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards
  • Ability to communicate well in a distribution operation environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

1+ year of work experience

  • Experience working in a color matching or paint/stain mixing role is a plus.
