Arcadis seeks an experienced Industrial Water Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team. This position is remote and can be performed anywhere in the United States.

Role description:

As a Project Engineer, you will participate in interdisciplinary industrial water and process teams to deliver high-quality detailed designs and constructed projects to our clients. Our current portfolio of growth opportunities falls within our Water for Industry practice, so an advanced understanding of the industrial water and wastewater field is a prerequisite.

Role accountabilities:

  • Preparing design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans and specifications, as well as overseeing construction administration for a variety of projects.
  • Researching feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
  • Working effectively with local, national, and global technical and client teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively delegate tasks to junior engineers
  • Detailed environmental proposal support experience
  • Preparing Feasibility Studies
  • Developing visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of environmental data and trends
  • Coordinating work schedules with subcontractors
  • Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
  • Working effectively and collaboratively in team situations and establishing strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists
  • Traveling (10-20%): conducting pilots and full-scale treatability efforts, and participating in face-to-face client, technical, and other stakeholder meetings

Qualifications & Experience:

Key Attributes:

  • Can work well with different project teams present locally and across remote offices without direct supervision.
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors, funding agencies, and reviewing agencies; to deliver technical presentations in conferences and technical symposia.
  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, BIM 360, and/or Primavera scheduling software
  • Ability to mentor young staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study
  • 7+ years of industrial water/wastewater treatment experience
  • EIT Certificate
  • Industrial water/ wastewater experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience with industrial wastewater, facility infrastructure design, and other industrial planning, design, and construction engineering activities
  • Treatability or pilot testing experience
  • License: PE license

Arcadis offers benefits for full time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. This position is eligible for participating in a company bonus program. The salary range for this position is $82,400 – $142,140.
