Influencer Relations Specialist, Analyst Relations , Steven Armstrong – Team

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a self-motivated, personable, and detail-oriented Influencer Relations Specialist to join the Corporate Analyst Relations team. The person in this role will partner with the Influencer Relations manager to build and manage a bench of credible, third-party experts known as independent analysts or boutique analyst firms.

Key job responsibilities
• Support day-to-day operations of the independent analyst relations program
• Drive proactive, high touch, engagements with a bench of trusted independent analysts to increase awareness and validate AWS messages and efforts through briefings, consults and activations (e.g., reports, quotes in media, social posts, speaking engagements, podcasts, etc.)
• Work with senior executives through programmatic engagements to develop deep relationships with key independent analysts and raise strategic visibility on the issues that differentiates AWS
• Work across AR, PR, service teams, and marketing to uncover new storytelling and thought leadership opportunities that align with key corporate reputational priorities
• Own social and media monitoring, coverage reporting, metric dashboards, etc.
• Work with relevant teams to amplify earned coverage and reports – both internally and externally
• Implement operational metrics to track progress YoY and post event/project reporting
• Innovate with regard to data collection and analysis, methodologies, and technology with a strong focus on measurable impact to the business
• Support budget operations through PO and contract management
• Lead small to medium projects related to improving existing processes or launching new projects
• Develop mechanisms to uphold Amazon policies and standards, e.g. standard operating procedures

A day in the life

We are looking for an Influencer Relations Specialist to support the growing independent analyst relations program. Working closely with the Influencer Relations manager, this role will partner with AWS technology and business leaders, PR, and Marketing to execute a program that engages and educates target independent analysts and boutique analyst firms, specifically those analysts who are actively speaking, writing, often quoted in press, and/or influential via social media. The role will leverage the input and influence of key independent analysts and boutique analyst firms to drive storytelling informing and shaping the way AWS shows up across various communication platforms.

About the team

The AWS Analyst Relations team focuses on driving five core outcomes via the IT analyst community: (1) Developing analyst awareness of AWS through education (primarily mainstream enterprise organizations); (2) Ensuring analyst accuracy about AWS; (3) Cultivating analyst advocacy for AWS in sales situations (analysts regularly influence purchase decisions); (4) Bringing analyst insights and feedback to the business to impact feature development and positioning, and, (5) Enabling sales, marketing, field, and PR to understand and utilize third-party analyst evidence created by AR.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 2+ years of relevant B2B experience in public relations, analyst relations, social or influencer marketing, or communications

– 1+ years working directly with executives and leadership

– Experience with social and traditional media analytics platforms and tools (PR Software, Social Media Analytics, Marketing Communication tools, etc.)

– Excellent written and oral communications skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Analytical thinking shown to drive metrics and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement in process and results

– Ability to identify better ways of working at scale through building new mechanisms and processes

– Able to demonstrate bias for action in ambiguous environments

– Confident, self-motivated individual with strong, demonstrable ability to earn trust, and with an innate attention to detail

– Ability to dive deep to understand and effectively communicate complex technologies

– Comfortable providing communications guidance to leaders across the organization

– Experience working in a fast-paced and cross-functional organization

– Able to prioritize in a complex environment

– Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, business, or similar

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
