Salary: $16.50 to $20.10 an hour
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for scheduling Energy appointments, pre-screening clients for KCR Energy programs, responding to program and application inquiries, submitting pledges, maintaining client files, and performing other administrative duties. Must be comfortable working with vulnerable populations: elderly, disabled, mentally ill, as well as those with a history of alcohol and/or substance abuse.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED plus 2.5 years’ experience in clerical field or
• AA Degree plus one year experience in clerical field

• Has competent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Able to work independently and manages office flow
• Understands de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques
• Demonstrates ability to interact directly with low-income households and community partners
• Able to pass Washington State Criminal Background Check
LICENSE(S) AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License
• Current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation
• PREFERRED: Bi-Lingual is a plus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES
1.Reports to and accepts assignments from the Energy Program Manager.
2.Greets clients and visitors promptly with a positive and helpful attitude.
3.Answers email and phone calls in a professional manner, and routes calls when necessary.
4.Performs general administrative tasks including faxing, scanning, and maintaining client files.
5.Schedules appointments and provides in-house or community referrals when appropriate.
6.Pulls client files for scheduled appointments and establishes holds on accounts when necessary.
7.Completes preliminary screening of potentially eligible clients for all Energy Programs and obtains accurate documentation.
8.Tracks client appointments and maintains all pending client files.
9.Provides Energy Conservation Education to clients.
10.Sends out applications to homebound, disabled, and mail-in applicants.
11.Sorts and distributes mail.
12.Submits pledges and obtains usage histories from heating and utility vendors.
13.Coordinates with team to design systems to reach project goals.
14.Attends and participates in program and agency staff meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
15.Accepts other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL FUNCTIONS
• Requires walking, reaching/stretching, intermittent sitting, twisting, and bending.
• Able to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to communicate with individuals, with a broad range of backgrounds and circumstances, in a positive and non-judgmental manner.
• Requires accuracy, excellent communication with staff, good judgment, and the ability to remain calm and provide appropriate advice and information.
• Must be able to exhibit regular attendance.
