Position Overview
Under immediate supervision of the DHS (Department of Human Services)/DoIT (Department of Innovation & Technology) Cornerstone Unit Manager, assists in providing one-on-one support and training to Cornerstone users throughout the State of Illinois. Assists in responding to Cornerstone system users’ problems in support of the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program, Early Intervention, Family Case Management, BCCP and other applications offered by the Division of Family and Community Services and the Department of Public Health. Receives on-going guidance and training to become fully knowledgeable of all Cornerstone systems. Conducts system testing, writes test scripts and assists with the development of test plans. Travels in the performance of duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists in providing one-on-one support and training to Cornerstone system users throughout the State of Illinois.
- Assists in responding to Cornerstone system users’ problems in support of the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program, Early Intervention, Family Case Management, BCCP (Breast and Cervical Cancer Program) and other applications offered by the Division of Family and Community Services and the Department of Public Health.
- Receives on-going guidance and training to become fully knowledgeable of all Cornerstone systems.
- Conducts system testing, writes test scripts and assists with the development of test plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields. OR Satisfactory completion of an agency sponsored training program.
- Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the stated requirement of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Elementary knowledge of SQL, programming, and database concepts.
- Elementary knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles, the theories and functions of computer systems, and the principles and techniques of Information Technology documentation.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
Conditions of Employment

- Requires ability to keep abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field.
