The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Information Steward & Solutions Analyst for our San Antonio office to support D&A activities in support of strategic member programs which will enable workstreams to successfully share information, manage and govern new data and navigate program governance activities associated with IT spend for that data.

This position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; Colorado Springs, CO or Tampa, FL. Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds – collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results.

Partners with business leaders/champions and solution delivery teams to identify key performance indicators, business requirements and measures to support and deliver the Enterprise Business Intelligence Strategy. Helps the business identify critical success factors and drives to the critical business questions that need to be answered in order to achieve the goals and objectives. Serves as a key to the successful deployment and adoption of the Enterprise Business Intelligence Strategy with contributions such as helping to define the business problem, the critical questions to be answered, and the needed analytical capabilities / presentation of the relevant data that will drive functional and technical designs and 1-3 year roadmaps for BI solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Develops viable analytic solutions that meets customer needs and provides measurement recommendations.
  • Produces clear and concise business requirements, business process documents and support documentation using a flexible and adaptable approach, emphasizing creative/ innovative solutions.
  • Partners with team members to conduct business analysis, assist in developing an analytical solution strategy and builds, tests, and identifies new concepts.
  • Works closely with analytics, information architects, project managers, product owners and developers on an integrated product team to implement analytical solution.
  • Presents program objectives, status, and timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participates in the entire project lifecycle, from strategic planning to tactical implementation activities.
  • Communicates and drives desired functionality, customer value, time to market, and business requirements based on timelines and identifies initial impediments regarding people, process or technology impacting analytical solution.
  • Contributes to the development and enhancements of standards, delivers work in such a manner that meets or defines best practices.
  • Collaborates with business leaders, Information Architects, and SMEs to align and integrate suggested road maps (business capability, information capability and technical capability) for best practices and tools based on business needs.
  • Supports business strategic priorities by providing timely communication to stakeholders, ensuring key deliverables are delivered, and identifying process automation opportunities.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Science discipline; OR 4 additional years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of experience working in an agile environment on business intelligence/analytics, creating requirements documents, establishing relationships with partners and vendors, and working with Information Technology teams.
  • Experience building roadmaps and strategic planning for complex integrated technical/analytical projects.
  • Experience working on projects requiring statistical analysis, explanatory analysis, and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with Design Thinking, Agile Methodologies and supporting tools.
  • Experience developing and building reports in order to monitor performance and drive business value.
  • Experience working with Data Development Lifecycle and Information Management principles (metadata management and Data Quality).
  • Experience working in an industry that is complex, multi-channel and/or regulated industry.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $86,520 – $165,350.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
