Position Overview

Under general direction, performs difficult and specialized professional work in the planning, analysis, configuration and development of applications within the Business Analysis Unit. Develops, maintains, and documents tools and applications that support user collaboration and project management. Develops, modifies and maintains business analysis and project management tools and processes within DoIT (Department of Innovation and Technology)-DHS (Department of Human Services). Analyzes, coordinates and performs configuration, coding and testing using business analysis and project management tools. Develops dynamic project management dashboards that produce metrics and charts based on project information updates. Serves as a liaison between Program Management staff, end user community and other State of Illinois (SOI) technical staff. Travels in the performance of duties.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs difficult and specialized professional work in the planning, analysis, configuration and development of applications within the Business Analysis Unit.
  2. Develops, modifies and maintains business analysis project management tools and processes within DoIT (Department of Innovation and Technology)-DHS (Department of Human Services).
  3. Develops dynamic project management dashboards that produce metrics and charts based on project information updates.
  4. Serves as a liaison between Program Management staff, end user community and other State of Illinois (SOI) technical staff.
  5. Keeps abreast of new development in the Information Technology field.
  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  2. Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a related Information Technology field.

Specialized Skills:

  1. Of the one (1) year of related Information Technology experience, requires one (1) year of experience working with business analysis project coordination using industry standard tools and technology, business and technical writing and preparing project documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. One (1) year of experience working with business analysis and project coordination using industry standard tools and technology, business and technical writing and preparing project documentation.
  2. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint and/or similar tools.
  3. Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
  4. Ability to coordinate the activities of work with that of associates to achieve desired results.
  5. Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
  6. Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.

Conditions of Employment

  3. Requires ability to keep abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field.
