Position Overview
Under general direction, performs difficult and specialized Internet/Intranet software security evaluations and implementations for all of DHS (Department of Human Services) in alignment with practices defined in NIST SP 800-30 – Guide for Conducting Risk Assessments. Serves as an advanced specialist in Internet/Intranet security administration. Assists in the development of Internet/Intranet security policies. Produces sophisticated Internet/Intranet documentation consisting of Internet/Intranet hardware and software charts. Provides end user support for Internet/Intranet security access. Assists the Help Desk staff in resolving complex Internet/Intranet security access problems. Provides tests and evaluations of the Internet/Intranet systems for automation needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs difficult and specialized Internet/Intranet software security evaluations and implementations for all of Department of Human Services (DHS) in alignment with practices defined in NIST SP 800-30 – Guide for Conducting Risk Assessments.
- Serves as an advanced specialist in Internet/Intranet security administration.
- Assists in the development of Internet/Intranet security policies.
- Produces sophisticated Internet/Intranet documentation consisting of Internet/Intranet hardware and software charts.
- Provides end user support for Internet/Intranet security access.
- Assists the Help Desk staff in analyzing and resolving complex Internet/Intranet security access problems.
- Provides tests and evaluations of the Internet/Intranet systems for automation needs.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a related Information Technology field.
Specialized Skills:
- Of the one year of professional experience, requires one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, specifically mainframe and web environments, related to access control, conducting security evaluations based on NIST SP 800-30 – Guide for Conduction Risk Assessments, Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT’s) Enterprise Security Policies, and/or similar standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, specifically mainframe and web environments, related to access control, conducting security evaluations based on NIST SP 800-30 – Guide for Conduction Risk Assessments, Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT’s) Enterprise Security Policies, and/or similar standards.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present information to others with clarity and precision.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
