JOB SUMMARY
Assist the IT Services Manager in all aspects of the Information Technology Systems Department operation. The primary focus of this position will be end user desktop and technology infrastructure systems support and documentation with a secondary focus on server, network and VoIP systems support and systems administration, providing prompt and accurate support to users, employing a high degree of customer service and technical expertise.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific Areas of Responsibility
- Install, administer, and troubleshoot computer hardware including servers, personal computers, printers and related peripherals on site and remotely.
- Install, administer and troubleshoot computer software including Microsoft Operating Systems, MS Office suites, and organizational software programs.
- Maintain and upgrade software solutions and hardware driver updates from manufacturers.
- Monitor and respond to help desk calls and provide technical support to end users.
- Maintain connectivity of LAN, e-mail, and Internet access.
- Provide technical training for computer systems to the clinic staff as needed.
- Provide technical support for Cisco VoIP telephone and teleconferencing systems.
- Assist with documentation of hardware and software configuration, network configuration and computer equipment inventory.
- Research technological applications and procedures as needed.
- Recommend hardware and/or software applications to meet organization needs.
- Assist with network conversion, expansion and/or upgrades.
- Assist with technology infrastructure systems and server maintenance and administration.
- Prioritize work requests to best serve organizational needs.
- Promote a positive working relationship with SCHC staff.
- Provide quality customer care in a fast and efficient manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
- Strong working knowledge of computer hardware and networking components.
- Computer knowledge in MS Office 2013, MS Windows 7/10 Pro/Ent, MS Windows 2012/2016 Server, and MS SQL Server running in a clustered environment.
- Strong knowledge of managing technology infrastructure systems such as print/fax servers, data backup (local and cloud), ITSM, Active Directory and ADFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, domains, and users and groups administration
- Provide configuration and end user support of Cisco VoIP phone systems.
- Problem solving aptitude in order to recognize, diagnose, and implement solutions to user inquiries and equipment problems.
- Physical mobility required to move and install up to 30 lbs. of computer equipment.
- Prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
- Ability to analyze user and network-related problems and implement solutions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, other managers and vendors contacted during the course of work.
- Experience with electronic health records helpful but not required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Four years technical support experience in a LAN/WAN environment.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with MS Windows operating systems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of MS Windows server, Active Directory, and networking.
- CompTIA A+ certification.
PREFERRED
- Additional certifications such as Microsoft MCP, Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Server+, or CompTIA Network+.
- AA or bachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience / certification.
- Working knowledge of VoIP phone systems.
- Experience in healthcare IT environment.
- Desire to extend IT knowledge and seek continuing IT educational opportunities.
