Position Summary
Responsible for directing, reviewing, analyzing, coordinating, and overseeing all Infrastructure Technologies and operations to include: networks, servers, security protocols, storage hardware and software while ensuring reliability, uptime, and security for all the Sandia Resort and Casino’s supporting hardware and software. Promotes and exhibits World Class Guest Service to all the Sandia Resort and Casino employees and guests.
Supervision Exercised
Reports to the Infrastructure Manager.
Oversees the Infrastructure duties assigned within the IT department for the Pueblo of Sandia and its enterprises.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Establishes and implements IT department and overall organizational policies, procedures, and standards and ensure their compliance.
2. Provides on-going formal reports to the Infrastructure Manger regarding the status of network security, network software versions, data integrity, corporate anti-virus and disaster recovery.
3. Plans and coordinates installation and maintenance for Sandia Casino, Sandia Pueblo LAN/WAN.
4. Provides network and system training to other IT specialists, IT Technicians and casino employees.
5. Manages Windows systems to ensure revisions, changes, and updates to operating systems and servers and insures compliance with system of internal controls and current gaming regulations. 6. Maintains Core Network Software and Hardware and ensure 100% uptime of network devices.
7. Maintains Network Security by ensuring procedures are implemented and enforced.
8. Formally document updates and changes for Sandia Casino, Sandia Pueblo server and network topology.
9. Responsible for all enterprise backup systems and ensure 100% compliance with system backup and recovery internal controls.
10. Will adhere to all MIS Internal Controls and Standard Operating procedures.
11 Ensures that all networks and server systems are available at all times, and takes proactive steps to achieve 100% uptime.
12. Will annually review network and active directory security with management and revise security as necessary.
13. Ensures patch management of critical software, hardware, definition updates are tested and implemented in a timely manner.
14. Conducts regularly scheduled department stand ups.
15. Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Must be willing to work in a 24×7 environment and be part of an on-call rotation.
2. Must possess strong customer interface/service and written & oral communication skills.
3. Ability to work independently, manage projects, install, configure, upgrade, maintain, monitor system performance, network resources and provide guidance to team members.
4. Ability to exhibit strong motivational commitment to the IT department.
5. Ability to follow detailed instructions given by Supervisors.
6. Ability to speak accurately and clearly in public.
7. Ability to create reports and maintains files.
8. Working knowledge of the following server operating systems and applications: Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Veritas Backup Exec & Linux.
9. Working knowledge of the following network hardware: Cisco Systems (Switches, Routers, Firewall) & Network Security Appliances.
10. Working knowledge of the following applications: Microsoft Office and
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
Required:
1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
2. Associates degree in Information Systems, CIS (Computer Information Systems), Computer Science, IT, MIS or related field and two (2) years’ experience to include the following:
- Coordinating technical projects
- Administering a Windows virtual server environment
- Administering a data storage environment
- Administering a network infrastructure
- Server backups
- LAN/WAN design and documentation
Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Preferred: 1. MCP, CCNA, Net +, Security +, or other professional certification.
Licensing Status
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
- Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors.
- Work hours subject to odd and unusual hours, including weekends, overtime and being on call.
- Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
- Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
- Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
- Specific required movements include the following:
