Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Innovation Manager – Digital.

We seek an innovation professional to help us grow our portfolio of innovation work. Our projects cut across aspects of the patient and clinician experience, from the exam room to telehealth to remote patient monitoring; we explore applications of cutting-edge technologies like virtual reality and natural language processing. This role will also support our work in equity, inclusion and socially-minded medicine for our Brooklyn-based patient population.

This role will support innovation projects from inception through delivery. They will conduct generative and evaluative research, ideate potential solutions, evaluate concepts, and prototype innovation work. They will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and SMEs throughout the process, sharing project updates and presenting the business case to senior leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate projects through all stages of the innovation process
  • Conduct research to understand user needs and inform innovation concepts
  • Collaborate in ideation and development of innovative concepts
  • Draw, sketch and rapidly visualize concepts or diagrams
  • Evaluate pilot projects and gain feedback for the next phase of development
  • Pitch ideas to internal colleagues and senior leadership
  • Scan the market for healthcare best practices, emerging technologies and innovation inspiration

Minimum Qualifications:

  • To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working in product management, design, healthcare, strategic or innovation consulting, market research or a similar field
  • Experience working on early stage products or novel business ideas.
  • Experience facilitating human centered design processes or product discovery.
  • Demonstrated practical application of strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply judgment within defined parameters.
  • Experience integrating user and stakeholder feedback to shape products and features.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of design thinking, human-centered design, design for social justice, community-based organizations and/or innovation management
  • Specific skill in a relevant area: research, design, healthcare, community organizing, social justice or innovation
  • Compelling communicator able to tell great product stories and inspire stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills and comfortable managing multiple projects and responsibilities at once
  • Great relationship-builder with both internal colleagues and external collaborators, skilled at working with diverse people and cross-functional teams
  • Appreciate working in creative environments, desire mission-driven work

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $110,479.20 – $124,800.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
