Instrument & Controls Technician, Megafactory

The Role
The successful candidate will have the ability to Work independently under the guidance and direction of the building automation lead, position is responsible for programming, monitoring, installing, testing, re-commissioning, inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and programming SCADA and building automation systems (BAS) including HVAC, building lighting and other integrated systems. Other duties include updating and maintaining the graphical web interface that enables systems monitoring and diagnosis and applying knowledge of multiple communications protocols including BACnet, ARCnet, Modbus, TCP/IP and Niagara

Responsibilities

  • Startup and commissioning of control systems.
  • Installation of automation controller’s field check-out.
  • Preventive maintenance, repair and general servicing of control systems (including detailed troubleshooting).
  • High level customer satisfaction through direct, on site customer interface with technical competence.
  • Ability and desire to mentor control technicians.
  • Assist HVAC team on repairs and projects.
  • Serve as backup for BMS leader.
  • Accurately complete required projects and service documentation in timely manner and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of SCADA systems expereince
  • Preferred SCADA control experience.
  • Previous controls industry experience.
  • Minimum Years of Education required: Trade/Vocational school.
  • Familiarity with general HVAC and Utility control devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to set up network systems.
  • Works with various operating systems
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a good attitude.
  • Experience with: Chillers, Boilers, Variable air volume systems, Constant volume systems, Fan powered variable air volume boxes, VAV boxes &Terminal Units, Pumps, Fans, Motors, Variable frequency drives, Low voltage control wiring, Compressed Air and Dryer systems, Electrical Monitoring, and Utility Metering.

      $18.00 – $56.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
