Role description:

Arcadis is looking for an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems Design Engineer to join our growing Resilience Water Team in Los Angeles, CA!

This is an exciting opportunity for an I&C Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to projects with a variety of I&C, automation system field investigations and design, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) integration. The selected candidate will be responsible for I&C and SCADA design services for diverse clients and projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems and facilities.

Role accountabilities:

This role will provide engineering, design services, and produce construction documents for municipal water and wastewater projects in Southern California.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers assigned to the project and prepare field investigations technical memoranda, detailed input / output (I/O) list, and process, and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and startup of I&C and SCADA systems.
  • Utilize technical experience and expertise in the execution of I&C and SCADA projects from inception to successful startup and turnover.
  • Produce effective and accurate written specifications for implementing I&C and SCADA projects.
  • Some local travel will be required driving to project sites, client meetings, or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 7 or more years of Instrumentation and control design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field of study.
  • PE Certification in California.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to self-direct and work on multiple assignments at once while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments.
  • Ability to execute projects and direct others.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Working knowledge of fiber, radio, and cellular telemetry networks.
  • Valid Driver’s license.

The salary range for this position is $94,760 – $142,140.
