Responsibilities
- Installs, terminates, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical and controls equipment and instrumentation utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Calibrating and repairing instruments and associated equipment
- Working with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes
- Supporting controls engineering and facilities groups in troubleshooting, upgrading and new installation of systems
- Understands the principles of measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes using instrumentation
- Consulting manuals, reading, and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
- Produce as-built drawing markups for delivery to the design team for recording
- Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts
- Installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment
- Using lifts and ladders
- Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems
- Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
- Provides excellent customer service
- Complete tasks in a timely manner and provides feedback
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a hands-on technician or related field working on process automation and/or electromechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC
- Working knowledge of networking and telecommunication wiring
- Working knowledge in using hand tools, multi-meters, and testing equipment
- Ability to perform skilled termination of controls devices
- Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings
- Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics
- Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly
- Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, variable frequency drives, programmable controllers, and other electronic components
- Strong understanding of HVAC and process instrumentation (pressure, level, differential pressure, temperature and analytical)
- Strong understanding of controls valves, dampers, and associated actuators
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people
- Ability to read and interpret PLC code
- Ability to read and interpret HMI screen
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.

$24.00 – $67.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
