This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an Intellectual Property Counsel for Diagnostics, supporting Digitalization and Information Technologies.you will be responsible for:
- You will be an integral part of the laboratory diagnostics business and drive decisions concerning IP issues together with the business leadership, R & D organization, business development, strategy and legal department.
- You will develop and drive the implementation of an IP strategy for the business line, including the preparation, filing and prosecution of patents, trademarks or copyright applications internally and via outside counsel.
- You will ensure freedom to operate by implementation of appropriate defensive IP measures and by providing expert legal advice in connection with product IP clearances and patent investigations.
- You will actively support IP litigations and M & A transactions (and associated due diligence activities) for the business line as necessary.

Required skills to have for the success of this role:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited institution, with admission to practice in a U.S state and before the USPTO.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer sciences, software, computer engineering or related engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience and/or background in In Vitro diagnostics technology is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years as a practicing attorney specializing in intellectual property, including IP related transactional work, with at least 2 years in an in-house legal department.
- Willing to travel up to 10%.
This position is located in Tarrytown, NY.
The pay range for this position in NYC or Westchester County, NY is $142,090-$191,920 annually; however, the base pay offered to any candidate residing in NYC or Westchester County, NY may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The annual incentive target is (10%) of base pay. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
