Intelligence Officer

We are looking for an Intelligence Officer!

The purpose of this classification is to gather detailed information on persons with outstanding Floyd County warrants; to validate and enter warrants, temporary protection orders, or other orders into department databases and to coordinate extradition of prisoners to and from County Jail facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Gathers detailed information on persons with outstanding Floyd County warrants; utilizes Internet, criminal investigations reports, public records, and other in-house records to locate suspects
• Relays information and details to deputies or other Law Enforcement agencies.
• Validates and enters warrants, temporary protection orders, or other court orders into department databases; operates National (NCIC) and State (GCIC) Law Enforcement computer systems to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections
• Coordinates extradition of prisoners to and from County jail facilities
• Communicates with deputies, other Law Enforcement agencies, and prisoners regarding pick up and drop off of prisoners
• Responds to questions, complaints, and requests for information/assistance from the general public, court personnel, attorneys, inmates, officers, various agencies, employees, officials, supervisors, or other individuals.
• Ensures all activities are in compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures; ensures adherence to established safety procedures
• Monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals
• Initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
• Receives and prepares various forms, reports, correspondence, criminal case files, criminal/driving records, subpoenas, codes, maps, directories, manuals, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate.
• Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, attorneys, judges, court personnel, Law Enforcement personnel, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
• Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations; maintains an awareness of new methods, equipment trends, and advances in the profession. • participates in Continuing Education activities and attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of Clerical /Administrative experience working with Law Enforcement records or in legal or court room environment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Applicant must be Georgia Crime Information Center certified Entry Level I Terminal Operator. Applicant must obtain Terminal Agency Coordinator Certification within 90 days of appointment.
