Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
We are currently seeking a student intern to help develop an interactive, stand-alone 3D application that visualizes cutting-edge quantum technologies.
Essential Duties:
Under the supervision and guidance of a technical advisor, the interactive 3D intern will support:
– Design + development of the pipeline for a first generation prototype of an interactive 3D visualization.
– Working with 3D models, assigning materials and optimizing import + developing a strategy to streamline the process for updates.
– Developing animations to illustrate technical assembly or conceptual and technical advancement.
– User Interface (UI) development and user testing.
– Writing custom software to support the UI and animation sequences
– General QA and bug fixes.
Required Skills:
Coursework or experience in one or more of the following:
– UI + graphic design
– 3D modeling + gaming development
– Software development
– Scientific visualization
– Circuit design and evaluation
Proficiency with Unity 3D and custom software development (C#).
Proficiency with Blender or a similar 3D modeling platform (experience with Python is a plus).
Proficiency with MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Required Education:
Minimum 3 years completed of a design, media arts, or related undergraduate program
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $22 – $35 per hour.
