Duties

  • This is a developmental position. The duties of this position lead to the full performance level of GS-XXXX-11.
  • Typical GS-11 Duties:
  • Study potential, proposed or authorized water resource planning projects, e.g., navigation, flood risk reduction, coastal storm risk management, ecosystem restoration, watershed assessment, and other water resources development.
  • Incumbent will help lead, manage and/or assist in water resources studies.
  • Analyze input from interdisciplinary teammates, review and assess technical information, and utilize various sources for data collection and research.
  • Prepare and/or present briefing materials to project stakeholders.
  • Prepare various reports and documents such as: memoranda, study plans, appendices, environmental assessments, exhibits, graphics and other supplemental materials.

For GS-07: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: working on teams; reviewing and summarizing technical information; and preparing written documentation to support findings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

For GS-09: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: reviewing technical information; assisting in conducting studies for water resource projects (e.g., navigation, flood protection, erosion control, storm protection, recreation, preservation and enhancement of wildlife resources, watershed assessment abatement, and other water resources development) and contributing to the preparation of written reports, and study plans to achieve final objectives with feasible and acceptable water resources projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

For GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
