Intermediate Architectural Interior Designer – Wineries & Hospitality

Led by our Curator, the design team works on a wide range of corporate, restaurant, community, and philanthropic projects.

This Designer will design and oversee the delivery of multiple interior and exterior design projects and be a design resource to the company. Responsible for the expansion of JUSTIN Wine and Lewis Cellars tasting rooms, this is a unique role where the ideal candidate will have broad exposure to hospitality, commercial tenant improvement and high-end residential projects. What our Intermediate Architectural Interior Designer – Wineries & Hospitality will do:

Job Description

  • Collaborate with design team and establishing and communicating design concepts
  • Prepare materials for presentation to client including assembly and review of material and furniture options, rendered finish plans and elevations and perspectives
  • Work closely with outside architecture firms to oversee projects and structural plans
  • Oversee and select materials, Furniture Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E), construction, and fabrication methods
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and vendors to meet project objectives and deadlines
  • Oversee production of schematic design, design development and construction documents
  • Manage project communication internally and externally
  • Manage schedule and project deliverables
  • Cultivate and preserve strong internal and external relationships, managing expectations and ensuring an appropriate level of communication at all times
  • Develop 3D renderings from 2D architectural plans using Sketchup and AutoCAD under the direction of the Senior Designer and Project Directors
  • Support the preparation of architectural presentations and production drawings, as well as participate in design studies and evaluation of design proposals

Skills & experience necessary for our Intermediate Architectural Interior Designer – Wineries & Hospitality will include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience Professional degree in architectural and/or interior design;
  • Extensive design experience in large commercial, hospitality, and community projects
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of architectural and structural engineering
  • Expertise in Sketchup and AutoCAD required
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods, and materials
  • General and broad knowledge of design technology, familiarity with design-build process
  • Excellent research skills, with ability to independently drive sourcing of unique materials
  • Ability to travel to project sites in the US, occasionally with very little notice
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

Pay Range: $85,000 – $100,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
