Course of Study

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Marketing or Advertising, MS in Marketing, or MBA with a concentration in Marketing or Advertising

Term

  • 1 year in length [37.5 hours per week during the summer; ~20-25 hours per week during school year]
  • Internship to begin end of May and end the following May
  • Location – Subaru Headquarters in Camden, NJ
  • $19 an hour (undergrad)

Qualifications

  • Junior (or a Senior planning to pursue a Master’s Degree in the fall)
  • Must be an active student for the entire length of internship
  • Curriculum and/or work experience portray a dedication to the pursuit of a marketing career
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

  • Strong written communications, presentation, and customer-service skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in an office setting and the occasional warehouse environment
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Word skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, retailer enrollment, and execution of marketing campaigns around the environment, health and wellness, community, education, and animals.
  • Assist in the management of relationships for brand partnerships, events, and our Subaru field team
  • Compile the monthly executive PowerPoint report for the Love Promise Community Commitment and the Field Marketing team
  • Participate in on-site events, as requested, and coordinate distribution of event supplies
  • Assist in managing and maintaining Marketing Department and Partner vehicle fleet
  • Work with partners, in-house creative team, and third-party agencies to coordinate brand compliant marketing materials, such as promotional vehicle wraps
  • Assist in research projects supporting the Love Promise Community Commitment and Field Marketing teams
  • Assist in managing contract deliverables for select partnerships
  • Maintain open lines of communication and dialogue between the remote field marketing and internal marketing teams
  • Review and approve Love Promise impact stories and help identify retailer stories to be featured in various advertising and marketing placements
  • Help track and collect from the remote field team retailer best practices and conduct audits of retailer social media channels and websites
  • Assist the Field Marketing team as needed with the Subaru Advertising Fund (SAF) retailer policies and procedures, review MAAP (Minimum Allowable Advertising Price), and conduct ad hoc analysis and/or reporting

Summary

This position will provide experience and exposure to the Marketing Communications Group at Subaru, specifically in the areas of Love Promise Community Commitment and Field Marketing. The Love Promise Community Commitment and Field Marketing teams manage the partnerships and event activations for initiatives in cause marketing, the development, enrollment and execution of Subaru retailer (store) Love Promise activations, and regular retailer or remote field team outreach. You will have exposure to daily departmental operations by supporting projects, participating in planning, and executing meetings.
