Framatome is seeking an Intern / Co-Op Mechanical Tooling Engineer for our Mill Ridge Road office in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist tooling engineers in all facets of tooling design including mechanical design-related tasks using SolidWorks
- Preparation of detail part and assembly fabrication drawings, tool assembly and qualification testing
- Shop interface, fabrication follow, and preparation of design documentation including Operating Instructions, Test Plans, and Refurb and Maintenance procedures.

Required Experience
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:
- Junior or Senior in Accredited Mechanical Engineering Program. 3-D CAD experience preferably using SolidWorks and hands-on aptitude using common hand tools.

- Strong technical problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:
- Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
- Familiarity with part design for manufacturability
- Self-performing of maintenance work on cars, motorcycles, or other machinery is preferred
- Knowledge of hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems to actuate simple mechanisms is preferred
- Experience with metal fabrication processes is a plus
Our total rewards package
The range of base salary for the position is between $19 – $23 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
