Patient Solutions interns will obtain practical experience and receive hands-on experience in the AHA’s efforts to ensure a more equitable and coordinated health experience for individuals with cardiovascular disease and stroke, by assisting in the development and dissemination of education and engagement tools that enable them to survive and thrive.

Internship Overview:

  • Time Commitment: 25 hours per week
  • Internship Duration: 9/11/2023-12/8-2023
  • Intern must be capable of working effectively in a remote environment
  • Salary: $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market and environmental research to support the Patient Solutions business unit’s strategy development
  • Assist in the development of patient and healthcare professional education resources such as web articles, handouts, infographics, etc. in coordination with marketing and communication leads
  • Assist in the collection of patient stories and incorporate them into awareness, education, and engagement initiatives
  • Support of existing initiative advisory groups and alliance partner work

Qualifications

  • 2+ years educational or equivalent experience in health, public health, social work or counseling courses.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working with community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
  • Effective oral and presentation communication skills
  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and email management software
  • Basic knowledge of SalesForce and/or Google Analytics is a plus
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
