Your internship will concentrate in Enhancing and Growing the Youth Development Program by introducing new hiring processes, program development, adding inclusivity, and create lesson plans to better serve our youth camps and programs offered by the County. Job Description
Department Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operation of over 40 active parks.
- Partners in the design and development of new parks and amenities, and is responsible for all county park playgrounds, recreational programs, and activities.
- Athletic staff coordinate with youth and adult sports organizations serving 1,000 plus teams on over 70 athletic fields.
- Youth Camp Program: Summer Blast Camp, Teen Camp, Specialty, and Holiday Camps
- Collaborate with your department colleagues to make and influence real changes.
Minimum Qualifications
Intern II
Freshman or Sophomore in university. Applicants from all fields, including but not limited to (area of assignment) with a strong interest in public service or public administration are welcome to apply. Jobs that fall into this level require some exposure to or familiarity with area of assigned duties. Valid driver’s license may be required.
Intern III
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree desired. Applicants from all fields, including but not limited to (area of assignment) with a strong interest in public service or public administration are welcome to apply. Valid driver’s license may be required.
Intern IV
Must be currently enrolled in a college/university, seeking a graduate (post-baccalaureate) degree or senior level graduate studies. (Proof of current enrollment required at time of application.) May consider recent graduate of master’s program. If not enrolled as bonafide student, assignment may not exceed six months.
