OUR ENERGY SERVICES DIVISION TEAM
Homes for Good’s Energy Services Division administers a Weatherization program designed to assist income-qualified Lane County residents reduce energy use in their homes and reduce their utility expense. Typical services offered through the Weatherization program include insulating attics, walls, and floors, sealing air leaks, improving ventilation, installing carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, sealing, and insulating heating ducts, servicing heating equipment and installing energy efficient appliances.
The Energy Services Team also leads Lane County’s LIHEAP Heat Crisis Program, a federally funded program that helps low-income households’ immediate danger of being without heat.
WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR OUR TEAM
The Energy Services Financial Specialist supports the Weatherization program by performing complex and difficult administrative, analytical work in the study of organizations and management systems directed toward improving the efficient attainment of department objectives and purpose, as well as related administrative staff work. This position will research, design, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the Agency’s Energy Service Division’s payment systems and accounting processes.
DUTIES:

- Maintains records and obtains information for various Energy Services Program reports.
- Tracks inventory, expenses and creates expense summaries for weatherization jobs using a variety of software applications; prepares appropriate journal entries.
- Receives invoices, prepares purchase orders and maintains purchase order database.
- Processes payment requests for Energy Services Division.
- Submits and tracks relevant rebates with various utilities; collaborates with Finance Department regarding rebate administration.
- Administers monthly grant closing procedures; makes appropriate journal entries and submits reports to various funding sources.
- Maintains financial accounting system to track multiple grant spending schedules.
- Responds to requests for statistical information from Energy Services Director, state and federal agencies and various utilities.
- Prepares and sends financial reports to the Finance Director.
- Collaborates with Energy Services Director in preparation of department budgets.
- Conducts research, prepares, generates and analyzes data.
- Effectively collaborates with Finance Department related to the Energy Services Division.
- Applies accounting principles related to the operations of the Energy Services Division.
- Organizes files and acts as information resource for audits and state monitoring.
- Consistently maintains a professional and courteous manner and an ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other employees, partners and the general public.
- Attends local and regional trainings to stay current with program regulations.
- Tracks and maintains Energy Services Division document retention schedule.
- Maintains regular attendance and adherence to working hours.
- Accepts and performs other work as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job is sufficient. Typical combinations of training and experience would be:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, organization analysis, accounting or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of progressively responsible administrative staff work in management and program research.
SUBSTITUTION:
Any combination of experience and education on a year for year basis up to a maximum of four years of responsible contracting and/or procurement experience may be substituted for the education required provided that the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work has been demonstrated.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
This position will be required to frequently drive Agency vehicles. Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate valid State of Oregon driver’s license and be insurable at standard rates.

COMPENSATION: The pay range for this position $3901.86 – $5,228.89 per month ($22.51 – $30.17 per hour) with a generous benefits package which includes paid health, dental and vision insurance for you and your family after one month of employment, along with life insurance and a 12% contribution of your monthly salary into a retirement account after 6 months of employment.

BILINGUAL DIFFERENTIAL:
This position is eligible for a bilingual differential of 5.7% upon passing a written and oral proficiency exam. Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish are preferred.
