Enjoy working the sports you love! Utah Valley University is seeking a part-time Intramural Sports Specialist to help the department manage and run a variety of leagues and programming for students.

The Intramural Sports Specialist will report to the Program Director of Intramurals and Competitive Sports. They will assist the Program Director and Program Manager with managing the overall operations of Intramural Sports and Competitive Sports at UVU. This position will focus on basic administrative duties, assisting in training and supervising student employees, and assisting in developing new programming.
Summary of Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of Intramural Sports and Competitive Sports programming. This includes but is not limited to using our current sports management software to manage leagues, tournaments, special events, and competitive sports teams; Knowing and enforcing rules and regulations according to the Intramural Sports employee manual, participant handbook, and sport rule books; Assist with developing new Intramural Sports programming; Assist with and manage Unified Sports.
• Assist with the training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of 25-30 student employees. This includes but is not limited to Assist Event Managers in planning training for each sport, Attending all staff and sport-specific training to help train and teach student employees, Assist with scheduling student officials using our current scheduling software.
• Help manage nightly Intramural Sports programming. This includes but is not limited to Inspect and maintain playing areas, boundaries, and equipment for leagues and events; Manage Unified sports leagues, practices, and tournaments; Assist Event Managers with evening leagues, including supervising and evaluating student officials; Assisting in managing special events on a monthly basis.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation with a high school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience working in an Intramural Sports program or related field.
• One year of experience officiating recreational sports.

• Must have basic knowledge of campus resources with an emphasis on Intramural Sport operations and resources.

• Must have good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Must have the ability to meet and communicate well with a wide variety of people who seek direction.
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
