Position Purpose:
The Inventory Control Lead oversees and provides guidance to the inventory crew under direction of manager/supervisor. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies. Counts material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies and posts totals to inventory/property records. Verifies record computations against physical count of inventory and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Handles all matters relating to inventory control, checking quality of designated product, taking daily inventory on produce and product spoiled. Answers questions and solves inventory control issues based on extensive inventory control and company specific knowledge. May assist with training. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and positively contribute to profit margin.
- Check the quality of produce and ensure poor quality products are removed before any customer purchases.
- Maintain appropriate inventory level daily.
- Sort through pallets for bad products.
- Repack produce in a timely and efficient manner to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
- Provide oversight, direction and input on work performed by associates in assigned area.
- Provide backup support to management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
- 6+ months of inventory control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience
