Position Information
The purpose of this classification is to coordinate activities involving inventory control, to include ordering and issuing materials, maintaining inventory records, and performing administrative tasks in support of the department.
Job Summary

Coordinates warehouse and inventory control activities; coordinates receipt, stocking, storage, issuance, delivery, and control of supplies/materials; conducts periodic physical inventory counts; maintains and updates warehouse/inventory records.
Maintains organization and cleanliness of warehouse, stockyard, or other storage areas; organizes storage areas to facilitate identification and location of items; places stock items into assigned area; monitors security of items stored in or transported to/from warehouse; performs general housekeeping tasks associated with maintaining stockroom and work areas.
Issues materials from inventory; pulls stock to fill individual requisitions; delivers materials as needed; maintains logs/records of all materials issued.
Determines appropriate stock levels and order points for warehouse stock items; monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate quantities; requisitions materials for inventory and maintains requisition status board; conducts monthly/periodic inventory counts of materials in stock; assesses need for new stock items; recommends addition/removal of items from inventory.
Receives incoming orders, packages, or deliveries; picks up parts at vendors as needed; inspects deliveries to verify receipt of correct materials and of entire order; verifies accuracy of packing slips and receiving documents; records receipt of items into computer; places stock items into inventory.
Maintains computerized inventory records; updates records to reflect status of inventory items; enters logs, requisitions, purchase orders, and administrative requests into computer; produces inventory reports.
Performs administrative tasks; prepares blanket purchase order parts lists; receives purchase orders for blanket vendors; maintains block purchase order log; submits emergency requisitions and purchase orders; maintains division credit card logs, purchase requisitions, and accounts receivable documentation; prepares weekly division work reports and cost analysis documents; generates weekly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports and after-hours work reports; prepares various analysis reports regarding inventory activities
Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, logs, lists, purchase requisitions, inventory records, payroll documents, work reports, cost analysis documents, or other documents.
Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, logs, inventory records, purchase requisitions, invoices, packing slips, meter applications, time sheets, catalogs, manuals, directories, reference materials, policies, procedures, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilizes word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, Internet, or other programs.
Operates a variety of equipment and tools associated with work activities, which may include a utility truck, backhoe, forklift, tractor, air compressor, generator, water pump, saw, mechanic tools, or hand tools.
Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, vendors, sales representatives, contractors, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Provides delivery services as needed.
Assignment to Public Facilities may include the following additional duties:
Coordinates activities with contracted landscaper; maintains landscape repair log; prepares requisitions for landscape projects; inspects completed landscape projects; submits completed landscaping invoices to purchasing department.
Prepares requisitions for sidewalk/driveway repairs; inspects completed sidewalk/driveway repair projects; receives purchase orders for completed sidewalk/driveway repairs.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
Responds to requests after normal work hours as needed.
Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, sending/receiving faxes, making copies, filing documentation, or processing incoming/outgoing mail.
Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving inventory control, vehicle parts customer service, and personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Personal Leave Accrual
Personal leave shall be accrued as follows:
0 – 4 Years – 20 days per year – 6.16 hours per pay period
5 – 14 Years – 25 days per year – 7.70 hours per pay period
15+Years – 30 days per year – 9.24 hours per pay period

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners offers employees a choice of two medical plans offered by Aetna and a plan offered by Kaiser Permanente.

Dental Insurance
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners offers two dental plans from Delta Dental:
- Base $1,000 Plan
- Buy-Up $1,500 Plan
Vision Insurance
The vision plan offered by Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is administered by Aetna and will offer office visit copays for exams, as well as copays for lenses, frames, and contacts.
Basic Life & AD&D Insurance
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognizes the importance of basic life insurance for all of its employees. The Board provides term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) protection for each full-time employee. This is a County-paid benefit.
Disability Insurance – Short Term and Long Term
100% paid by Forsyth County. Eligibility begins date of hire.
Short Term Disability – 60% of weekly earnings to a maximum of $1,000.00 a week. Eligibility begins 14 days after an accident or sickness and has a benefit period of 24 weeks.
Long Term Disability – 60% of monthly earnings to a maximum of $5,000.00 a month. Eligibility begins at 26 weeks to coordinate with the end of Short Term benefits and continues 24 months (Own Occupation).
Additional Life Insurance and AD&D
Rates vary based on amount of coverage selected. Additional life insurance may be purchased for employee, spouse, and children.
Retirement Plan (401K)
Fully vested at five years of employment – 20% graduated vesting annually. Eligible to begin contributions immediately upon hire.
6 mos to 3 yrs – County matches 100% of a max 5% of employee gross contributions
3 yrs to 10 yrs – County contributes 5% of base salary & County matches 100% of a max of 5% of gross employee contributions
Over 10 yrs – County contributes 5% base & County matches 100% of a max of 5% of gross employee contributions & County matches 50% of next 5% of gross employee contributions
