POSITION SUMMARY
The Northwestern University Investment Office is searching for an Investment Analyst to join the 24-person team responsible for investing the University’s endowment. The Investment Analyst position provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in institutional investing and broad exposure to various asset classes, including public equity, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real assets, and fixed income. The Investment Analyst will be an active participant on the team and assist in many areas of the investment process. The Investment Analyst will work closely with senior level investment professionals, including the Chief Investment Officer, and have an opportunity to interact with the University’s trustees. This is an entry-level two-year term appointment with the potential for promotion to a subsequent two-year Associate program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the evaluation of new and existing fund managers across asset classes.
- Assist with the preparation of investment recommendations and presentations, including those prepared for the University’s trustees.
- Evaluate investment opportunities including underlying strategies, sectors, and geographies.
- Monitor performance of existing investments, including reviewing quarterly and annual reports and attending manager meetings or conferences
- Help prepare and refine a variety of quantitative analyses, including risk management and asset allocation reviews.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic performance
- Passion for investments and financial markets
- Proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Excellent analytical skills, comfort with statistics and financial math, and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highest level of integrity, innate curiosity, intellectual capability, and professionalism
- Interest in pursuing a CFA designation is a plus
Target hiring range for this position will be between $87,000-$97,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
