Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to serve as support for Taxation and Revenue (TRD) Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) client-server and web applications to provide technical solutions, indepenedently perform the complex assignments often requiring the development of new or improved applications, processes or tecniques.
How does it get done?
This position:
* Develops and implements software changes to Motor Vehicle applications
* Develops application specifications, writes application code and performs application testing
* Works with business analysts and quality assurance analysts during the testing process to ensure that the application meets the business needs
Who are the customers?
Customers include Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD) users of the Motor Vehicles Tapestry System and work directly with business units, technology teams, contractors and other stakeholdrs, in close coordination with ITD leadership.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience:
* Implementing complex business applications using .Net with Visual Studio
* Designing XML Schemas, developing transformation using XSLT and processing XML documents
* Writing complex queries and procedures using MS SQL Server
* Designing and developing web applications
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in software programming. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Office setting. Long periods of sitting and continuous use of monitor and keyboard. Stress due to deadlines and workload. Occasional overnight travel, work after hours, weekends and/or holidays may be required; Occasionally variable work schedule.
