The IT Business Analyst I/Technical Product Owner facilitates assigned projects by serving as a liaison between users and developers, setting and communicating goals, and evaluating and refining results
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Assesses and documents technology requirements, makes recommendations, and advises on possible options, risks, and costs.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates technology and user needs and documents findings.
• Recommends changes to technological processes to increase effectiveness for end users.
• Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, translates high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from actual underlying needs.
• Communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivers the following products as needed: Functional requirements, Business Requirements Document, Use Cases, GUI, Screen, and Interface designs.
• Collaborates with users to define concepts under the direction of project managers.
• Recommends to business units assumptions to ensure success.
• Serves as a conduit between the customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
• Develops requirements specifications according to standard templates using natural language.
• Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to establish the technical vision and analysis tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• Performs software QA duties to build test plans and cases based on user functional requirements and apply those at set intervals in the development process to verify the software is meeting those requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT WE NEED
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science or equivalent required
• Minimum two (2) years of related experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
• Technical aptitude to understand software applications and databases
• Experience in SQL, Agile/Scrum methodologies and programming
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills to work with our business users, management and team members
• Able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
• Able to elicit business requirements for small to medium sized issues
• Write user stories with necessary detail to facilitate high quality deliverables
• After gaining business experience, be able to triage a business “need” vs. a business “want”
• Look for alternate solutions and offer up ideas
• Have the ability to write end user training documentation
• Able to train users, in person or remotely, using documentation or expert knowledge
• Write test scripts for small to medium programs
• Assist with system testing
• Guide and assist users with User Acceptance Testing
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Prior experience with development/maintenance of an ERP application is beneficial
