This is an internal agency employment opportunity for current employees, including OPS, of the Department of Financial Services, the Office of Financial Regulation, and the Office of Insurance Regulation.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology-related field is required OR a combination of college coursework and experience as described above may also be interchanged. Professional work experience can qualify on a year-by-year basis in place of the required education. College coursework will be considered the equivalent of experience at the rate of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours on a year for year basis.
Additional requirement:
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in government IT Projects as an IT Business Analyst or related duties.
The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 annually.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to generally communicate effectively and to communicate technical data processing information effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive system tests.
- Ability to determine cause and effect related to application defects and the ability to identify solutions to correct the root cause.
- Ability to determine user requirements and to generate effective requirements and design documentation through interaction with the user community.
- Experience in programming using an object-oriented programming language and knowledge of computer programming, systems analysis, and design principles and practices.
- Ability to develop detailed system documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical information relating to computer programming and data processing as well as the ability to read and comprehend technical materials.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Create and maintain documentation (including security, infrastructure, versions, setup/configure, etc.), procedures and manuals on all supported systems.
Assist in support of the application development and production environments.
Work with business area in estimating and prioritizing application changes, ensuring that all authorized changes are thoroughly documented, reviewed, and accepted by the business area.
Assist with the design of application changes and develop technical specifications to meet the stated requirements of the business area and provide the best solution for the new enhancement and ongoing maintenance following division methodology.
Maintain, enhance, and/or develop supported applications in approved development language and platforms in accordance with division processes.
Design non-functional prototypes of software and websites.
Perform analysis; facilitate resolution or correct performance related problems with applications.
Gather metrics, troubleshoot issues, and monitor navigation and functionality for internal and external web sites.
Communicate regularly with team members, OIT management, and business areas as to the status of assignments, and proposed and current projects
Provide training and direction to the programming and analyst staff.
Develop and maintain test plans and aid in testing of applications
