IT Data Support Specialist

Summary/Objective

The IT Data Support Specialist is responsible for data entry and ensuring data integrity in the various POS IT systems with secondary responsibility to assist with staging, configuring, and testing field hardware related to POS. The IT Data Support Specialist will support the various field openings by documenting project related assignments, issues, and risks. The IT Data Support Specialist will report to Manager, Data Systems and requires up to 20% travel to airport locations when necessary.

The position pays $22 – $27 hourly.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure accurate data entry and data integrity in the various IT systems
  • Enter and update items and recipes in the POS database as well as entering data for new SSP site rollouts
  • Communicate with end users, locations, and others to gather all needed information to ensure data entry is complete and accurate
  • Regular attendance as required by the SSP Attendance Policy
  • Other related duties as needed or as assigned by manager

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Proven experience or working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating System
  • Knowledge of help desk support duties
  • Knowledge of restaurant POS systems
  • Knowledge of inventory and reporting systems and their use in restaurants
  • Micros (Oracle) Point of Sale support experience a plus
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Proven ability in delivering superior customer service
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail with accuracy, follow-up skills, and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and among cross-functional teams with minimal supervision, ability to juggle multiple tasks while adapting quickly, and effectively prioritize assigned job duties to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively and timely complete assigned tasks and projects as assigned. Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change.
  • Ability to handle conflict, work under pressure/deal with high pressure and stressful scenarios, and resolve uncomfortable situations with clients, customers, and peers and do so while exercising sound judgement and decision making
