As the Desktop Support Admin, you will be supporting the daily operations and maintenance of Windows desktop and laptop computer systems and iPad/iPhone support across Skyline Family of Companies Locations. As such, you will also be diagnosing and resolving end-user issues involving IT equipment and software, as well as providing desk-side end-user support, project support, and service request support. This includes installing and upgrading hardware and software, imaging and deploying workstations, configuring and refreshing PCs, troubleshooting network & wireless issues, and responding to and resolving office/business applications and some server-related problems.
As a Desktop System Specialist & IT Systems Support Admin, you are required to have prior experience as a Field Services Technician, IT Systems & Infrastructure Knowledge as well as prior recognition from end-users for providing outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and upgrade workstations, desktops, laptops, network printers, and peripherals
- Respond to and resolve workstation, application, windows server & VMware virtual VMs related problems
- Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Update desktop software/applications and maintain documentation on installed applications
- Support company-wide IT infrastructure projects such as PC refreshes, new hardware deployments, site acquisitions, and go-lives
- Provide guidance and leadership to contract support personnel as needed.
- New-Hire IT equipment purchase planning and work with the vendors for quote & PO processing.
- Work with Asset Management to maintain inventory of all laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and other components and equipment, complying with standards for deployment and collection of assets.
- Manage an IT Ticketing, SLA, Asset & Change/Release Management ITIL/ITSM based Cloud applications (Solarwinds Service Desk, ServiceNOW, SaManage etc.)
Abilities & Knowledge Required:
- 1-4 years of IT desktop support experience within a medium to large Windows environment.
- Successful track record providing outstanding customer service and problem resolution for end-users experiencing hardware and software issues
- Excellent Communication Skills are a must.
- Experience with PC refreshes, deploying new IT equipment, creating images, installing software packages, maintaining computer networks, and migrating network printers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory services, Office 365 Cloud Desktop Support Level Administration, Windows 10 OS, Windows servers, encryption products, and standard networking protocols (including TCP/IP and Ethernet)
- Provide user training where necessary, and create and document processes relating to user training, software, and hardware rollouts.
- Familiarity with Office 365 Cloud and Collaboration Tools (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Cloud)- Running on Enterprise E1/E3/E5.
- Experience with Cloud VOIP UCaaS (Verizon OneTalk, RingCentral, 8×8 etc).
- Familiarity with JAMF NOW/PRO.
- Familiarity with 2FA, MFA, SSO (OneLogin, Okta, etc.)
- Familiarity with Microsoft DFS.
- Familiarity with MS Shared Drive Migration to SharePoint Cloud.
- Familiarity with various small apps/tools such as (Airtame, Snapcomms, Exclaimer for O365, Bluebeam Revu CAD, Snagit etc.)
- Familiarity with any WiFi AP’s support such as (Juniper MIST, Cisco, Unify etc…).
- Some knowledge or experience with desktop support for any ERP/CRM & Accounting Applications.
- Participate in the testing, integration, configuration, and deployment of end user hardware, operating systems and related utilities so that our clients are optimally fitted for their respective tasks.
- Scheduled after-hours support on-need basis.
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification is preferred
- SSL VPN Client Support, Troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with SSO, Dual or Multi-Factor Authentication Software Cloud-based Okta, OneLogin is preferred.
- Desktop and laptop imaging with Symantec Ghost or Acronis or any other.
- Familiarity & Knowledge of Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus, and Anti-Malware software for desktops/laptops.
- Windows Server, Active Directory and Office 365 Cloud Exchange Server a plus
- Familiarity with Active Director Admin Console, Management and groups and permissions
- Familiarity with Server Hardware & Server O/S, Virtualization VMware ESXi a plus
- Experience with Multi-purpose Enterprise Printers, Plotters.
- Zeal to Learn Systems Admin Level Tasks for upward mobility and backup coverage of Senior IT Systems Engineer.
- Strong troubleshooting skills including root cause analysis.
$30 – $45 an hour
The actual salary offer will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
*Please note that the full base pay range for incumbent employees in this position can be expected to fall between $30/hour and $45 hour. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay overtime based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
