Provide user support and customer service on company-supported computer applications and platforms. Troubleshoot problems and advise on the appropriate action.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the first contact with users who need technical assistance via phone or help desk support tickets.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and firmware issues.
- Provide quick resolution to issues, and excellent customer service to our users. Patience is a MUST.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support, or to the programming team as needed.
- Keep records, in our Alloy Help Desk Software, of issues, resolutions, and inventory
- Follow up with users and see issues through to completion
- Provide feedback about our existing processes and methods, and recommend improvements
- Maintain records of software licenses, hardware assignments, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
Education, Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma with equivalent IT helpdesk experience
- 1-2 Years experience as an IT Help Desk / Desktop Support technician in an environment with 300+ users
- Experience working in a high security/card access controlled environment
- Hands-on experience with loading Windows PCs, adding them to Active Directory, and setting up equipment at the user’s desk
- Experience with remote support software such as Tight VNC, Remote Desktop, and others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer oriented and patient, especially with non-technical users
- Microsoft and other Help Desk related industry certifications a plus
- Bi-Lingual a plus (English/Spanish), but not necessary.
