Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager for working with the US Capital Police (USCP), Office of Information Systems (OIS) Project Management Governance Division (PMGD) team and key OIS stakeholders. Must be capable of working on multiple projects. This person will serve as a lead Project Coordinator in providing the following:
- Project Planning – Develop the PM Support Initiative documentation and associated administrative activities. Produce a set of targeted guidelines that reflect specific skill areas, particularly related to, Scheduling, Project-related Financials / Resources, Requirements, and Risk Management.
- Schedule Planning and Management – Create and maintain a schedule plan to provide managers with a view of the cumulative work efforts within the department.
- Program / Project Portfolio Management (PPM) – In the past two years, OIS PMGD has matured its project tools capabilities from a standalone Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in MS Project to a full PPM tool based on Microsoft Project Server (on SharePoint 2016).
- Help perform updates, modifications, and improvements to assigned projects in the PPM. Schedules should be capable of cross project integration and promoting a common “look & feel.” Produce resource metrics (e.g., resource-leveling). [Note: An upgrade to Project Online within M365 is seriously being considered in a near term roadmap (1 -2 years)]
- Implement Metrics Approach – Implement an approach for managing both Project-Specific and division wide metrics. The implementation should, at a minimum, include KPIs, a dashboard accessible to USCP management and project leads.
- Support Project Management Activities- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project schedule(s) and project-related material. Prepare weekly status report, coordinate inputs to monthly TouchPoint meetings, quarterly IT Capital Planning and Investment Control (IT-CPIC) meetings, and prepare meeting minutes from project-related meetings, such as Risk, QA, Requirement gathering, and SDLC, Development preparation and IT-CPIC. Establish / maintain organized and accessible documentation repository, Maintain & enhance the PPM Environment.
- Documentation – Support / participate in the development of Project Management-centric documentation such as a Requirements Management Plan. Develop, and subsequently document, a requirements management that provides OIS with a consistent approach for both Project-Specific and OIS-wide requirements repositories.
- Risk Management – Support / participate in the development of Program Risk documentation that provides a consistent approach for managing and tracking both Project-Specific and department-wide Risk Matrices. The plan shall describe how major risks and issues will be mitigated. This includes an approach that incorporates risk tracking with action item tracking.
- Develop a Program Metrics Plan – Develop, and subsequently document, a consistent approach for managing both Project-Specific and organization-wide risks. A dashboard solution, and trending metrics should be itemized in the plan.
- Implement Risk and Risk Mitigation Activities- Manage both Project-Specific and organizational Risks and actions. This includes risk tracking, and communicating them to project stakeholders and/or a forum of effected stakeholders
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10-12 years’ experience and Master’s Degree and 8-10 years’ experience or high school diploma and 14 years relevant experience
- 10-12+ years in leading Project Management activities, ideally in a highly complex IT environment
- Must have extensive experience working with MS Project (2016 or higher)
- United States Citizenship; must have the ability to obtain and maintain US Capitol Police clearance (Criminal Background Check)
- Must be able to commute to the client site at minimum 1X per week and as requested
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification

Salary Range
Salary Minimum: $72,500
Salary Mid: $145,000
Salary Maximum: $181,300
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees.
