Why does the job exist?
The IT Project Manager II will:
- Manage projects and work streams within the NM Medicaid Management Information System Replacement (MMISR) project to include scope, schedule, budget, issue, and risk management;
- Orchestrate collaborations between module contractors and ensuring successful submission of contractor deliverables;
- Manage other projects or initiatives as assigned.
How does it get done?
The IT Project Manager II is responsible for:
- Organizing and documenting tasks and executing per a formal project schedule.
Who are the customers?
- The Project Manager II will work for the HHS2020 initiative, MMISR project, and other projects as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has:
- Core Project Manager planning activities, such as: developing schedules, identifying resource requirements, developing the project budget, establishing the initial project team, documenting project management plans;
- Core Project Manager execution activities, such as: Budget, cost schedule performance, risks, reporting, issues, governance, resources, quality, scope, outcomes, and results;
- Problem solving skill, such as: defining the problem, performing root cause analysis, exploring options and solutions, understanding constraints, and recommending best solution based on data-driven analysis;
- Experience mentoring project team members on low level project activities.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or Information Technology and four (4) years of experience in software development, project management, or systems analysis, with a minimum two (2) years of experience in the PM role. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. CAPM/PMI-ACP certification may be substituted for one year of experience. PMP/PgMP certification may be substituted for two year of experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
